Over and above the call of duty

Need a good mechanic in central FL? Here’s a small story about what my mechanic did for me.

On Sunday I traveled 2 hours down state to his shop so we could replace a few parts on my 79 280CE. At about 7:00pm everything was back in place and we were ready to leave, then we noticed that the fuel pressure regulator was leaking. As it turns out the small weld that holds the female fitting on the regulator had cracked and was leaking fuel from when you put the hose back on. At that point the car wasn’t fit to drive 2 hours back home. Pierre was willing to drive me back home then deliver the car to me on Monday. Of course I wouldn’t have let him do that. That night Pierre calls his friend to see if he had a regulator that would work good enough to get me back home. He had one but it was a different part # but Pierre thought it would work, it was our only option so Pierre drove over to the next town at about 8:00pm to get the regulator. He installed the regulator in the car and it worked, didn’t leak at all and it ran great. Pierre really went the extra mile for me so that I could get home last night. Everything that he took apart was put back together just like it was when the car was put together 30 years ago. He is the only mechanic I would fully trust to work on my car. There isn’t a problem to big or small for him. I would highly recommend him to work on your car, and it is definitely worth the travel. Its not often you find a guy like Pierre in the Mercedes community. He usually only likes to work on cars older than 1993 but depending on the problem I’m sure he could help you out.

He will allow the owner to watch him work and work on the car with him. If you are in or around Central FL give him a call and setup an appointment. Very good prices too!!

sounds like a good chap.
I rememeber in 2003 having a crazy idea about putting NOS on my Lexus GS3000. Met some guys at a show who said they could do it in a day. They lived 340 miles away so I arrange some meetings in the area and booked it in. I got back at 5 pm and the car was not ready. (leaking on the fuel rail) so they had it apart again twice before it was "perfect" This took some time so they ordered in Pizza!! We ate, laughed learned about Nos and Lexus compatibility together and at 15 minutes to Midnight I drove away in my fully sorted GS300 NOS!
They quoted me a price that was outragously low at the show. When I came to settle up, guess what, the price was the same!
Were it not for the fact that 4 years ago one of the partners died in his sleep I would still be sending people out of their way to use them.
You never forget a great bit of service.

He's in Titusville? I'm looking for someone closer to Sarasota. Know of anyone close to Sarasota Florida??? Will he travel? I need a few things done on my 67' 250S, and I know of no one... The local Mercedes guy who everyone says is great, said "I haven't seen those carbs in 30 years" LOL I'm not sure I could drive that far anyway, been staying close to home until all the bugs are worked out.

yeah he is in Titusville. He might travel but I doubt it. You should drive your 250S up to his shop, he would be happy to work on it. He might could tell you how to fix it over the phone.

Tell him the guy with the yellow 280CE sent you.

Pierre might travel, if the car interests him enough. Late last year he went to DC to help a friend with a car. Can't hurt to call him- even for the entertainment value...

I can vouch for Peter (Pierre) anytime... I have known him since 2003. He has the skills, the passion, and the dedication to work on older MBs... period.
