Window sales sticker
Has anyone got a window sticker sales sheet from any 116.033 car?
|
I'd like to see one so that I can duplicate..
|
So did you end up buying it?
|
Still waiting...but patiently...
I still don't have it yet, still haven't put any money down on it either.
It's still at the tranny shop, we were waiting for schmaltz to get up off his arse and pull the other 450 out so we can swap the transmissions. It's been pulled out, however, we had a -42C cold snap here for about 3 days, and lots of transmissions failed apparently, so Oscar's very busy. no big deal for me, I can wait. I expect to have the car this coming week sometime. I have transportation in the mean time. This 450 is already being delegated as a second vehicle. another project now :D I have however been able to get a very good look at the underneath, since it's been on a lift for nearly a month. Floors are IMMACULATE. rocker panels are swelling a little on the seam, (I have replacements) and the rust under the drivers rear wheel well trim is surface rust bubbling the paint, no holes yet, inside the wheel well or outside. (first on my list of body repairs) I put two things of stabil in the tank a few days ago as well as 5 gallons of premo fuel to help loosen crud and boost octane for the later drive home, but other wise it fires up and idles OK (i'll have to go thru the ignition system), no hunting or major misses. The WUR shows evidence of being removed at one time or replaced. I think it's a damn fine car. the price has dropped to $1925 because I forked out $75 to get it to the transmission shop. The transmission is a freebie, and Like I mentioned in an earlier post, Randy is paying for the labour on this transmission swap. (he's the original guy who screwed up the transmission.) The 'rebuilt' transmission when it was dismantled, WAS infact rebuilt, with new seals and clutch packs but something was done to it that by the time it had returned to the dealer all the clutch material had been shaved off. When Oscar opened up the pan it was full of clutch material and was plugging the filter. |
Oh yeah, and the Exhaust system is a hack job. I can handle that. :D
|
Good luck with it, I fancy hacking the exhaust and muffler on one of the 6.9's and putting 2 3 inch pipes with magnaflow mufflers.
|
I'm still deciding on whether or not I want to be loud or not. :)

Back in the seventies, I had to replace the exhaust system on my 69 300SEL 6.3. Price being king, I had the local Mexican hole in the wall exhaust shop gen up a replacement system (this was when I still lived in Tucson, AZ.). What I ended up with was a set of 4 cherry bombs in place of the original two exhaust mufflers. It actually sounded pretty nice. A fellow lister, JA17, now owns the car, and the exhaust is still in place. Didn't give away much to the stainless steel systems, eh? Jim |
I can get a factory-like exhaust done here for a mere $300.
dual exhaust is $600 I still have the mandrel bent 3" from the SD that follows the same track (from the trans back) so I can use that and get some good sound and save money. |
Although I REALLY AM looking for a copy of a vintage window sticker....
Both cars are finally in the transmission shop getting them swapped...I should have the car by mid week if this donor transmission checks out |
Didn't I read in the past Mercedes could provide replica documents such as that? Or was that some other old car? It sounds like something Mercedes would do anyway.
|
Interesting..I'll have to look into that..
|
I think Mercedes charges 100 Euros for a 'package' of documents on a car.
You might need to keep looking for a sticker. Perhaps your dealer can come up with one without haveing to buy the entire package. |
