Having a problem with an automatic transmission on the 74 220 gas.

shifts gears with a jerk, sometimes doen't shift gears going uphill.

occasionally, after stopping at light, will not move after steeping on gas pedal; have to shift to park and then back into drive

I have had the car about 1 year and seldom use her and have had problem just as long.

Local foreign auto mechanic changed trans fluid but no change.

Any thoughts anyone?

my guess is that there could be a fluid pressure loss. or the clutches are slipping to much and you have the right amount of pressure but the clutches are bad. that is just my guess. i work at a MB restoration shop and service on older MB. we have parts cars and if you are interested in buying a used transmission i could possibly help. send me a private message if you are interested. is this car a gas engine?
