Hi,
I've got a 1961 190D and the top of the driver's side wiper tower broke while I was putting the wiper arm back on. Since I've got to pull the wiper transmission to fix this I was wondering about doing a total upgrade. 2 speeds would be nice, and perhaps more rugged aftermarket towers and wiper arms. Does anyone have experience or advice for doing this type of project?

I thought all W110 cars did have two speeds, pull out to first notch for slow, and pull out to second notch for high. I know the 1966 and later did. There used to be aftermarket electronic units available to add interval wipers and more speeds to old single or two speed wipers that mounted under the dash. JC Whitney sold them. Might be an option for an upgrade.
