108 fuel pump

Ok, this will probobly sound like a stupid question, but I'll ask anyway.

Is their supposed to be a shroud or cover to protect the fuel pump on my 70 108? I have a 280SL of the same vintage that has a metal cylinder thing covering the fuel pump protecting it from rocks and such.

Should there be one on my SEL?

Michael

If it's fuel injected model, yes.

yes

There is a three sided box that is covering my fuel pump and filter on my '72 280 SEL. It's open facing towards the back. There should be three screw sticking down from the undercarriage that the box bolts to.
