I'll agree with thorsen. Free towing, discounts on hotels, free maps - it can pay for itself a few times over if you use it.

There are always many ways to see a situation: The weather is plotting against you or the weather has nothing to do with you at all. The weather is an obstacle that you can overcome. You are missing out on a rare opportunity: your mechanic has no work because everyone is snowed in; he is bored out of his mind and could devote his full attention to fixing your car right now.

That's the time when a little extra persuasion ($20) might need to be applied to the situation.

All you have to do is give the story (which as far as I know is true)... "I drove it here to visit the inlaws, parked it, and now my car won't start! I need it towed!"

Well, He has been a little backed up so it look's like he will start on her next week. The cost of the engine was $600, and $1400 for the swap. I'm still going to say that I need the swap but nothing will be for sure till he start's on her. Then he told me it's a good idea to estimate a few hundred for incidental's. Like Motor mount's etc. Ive already have the motor and 900 of the labor paid off, Now all I got to do is wait.

EDIT: He just sent me this This is where the tramissions bolts to the frame. Hes soaking it penetrant, Hope he's able to get the tramission on and off with out disaster.

<< I mean can anyone with experince with this chime in?>>

You have an old, severely rusted uni-body chassis that, for all practical purposes, is no longer stucturally worthy, nor would it be economically feasable of putting an engine in for amount of $$$ you are talking about ..
This car is what is commonly referred to as a Rust Bucket...sorry.

Experienced answer.

Sir, I believe you are correct.

Sorry Nick. I also bought a rustbucket about four years ago. I got 24,000 miles out of it, and now it's becoming the tranny donor for my nearly rust-free Texas 300D.

If It would help I have 2 --108 bodys cut apart, and that is where I cut them apart. I may have enought sub-frame with working bolts holes. If you need just send pic of area you need. And yes that can be fixed if done right.

Well, He say's he think it can be done. If it doesn't work out I'm going to let her go and use the money I bought the engine and labor with and buy a Bronco, But I have faith that he will get it on and off.
