Instrument Pointer Removal

Hi All,

My rev counter never worked properly so I swapped it with one from eBay which works perfectly. Problem is it was off a 350 and not a 450 so the redline is a bit too optimistic and the pointer is a different shade of yellow to the other dials. Not the end of the world I know !

Does anyone know how to remove the pointer from the end of the shaft to allow me to swap it and the scale over?
It's a bit delicate to didnt want to just start pulling.

Thanks for any help,
Gary

I'd use two spoons, and lay a cloth where the bowls of the spoons will rest.

if you are in there refurb all the dials with a nice coat of testers orange paint. I have done this on several of mine and they look like new. Just use a thin brush and steady hand. Put tin foil under the needle, as to nt mess up the face .

Thanks for the responses guys,

I did do a search before asking but didnt find that thread so thanks.
I tried the spoons but it wouldnt budge so may be different to later models, I'll probably send the original tach away to be calibrated and stick the 350 one back on eBay when I get it back.

Cheers,
Gary
