Yeah, strap it to a skid and bubble wrap it and I don't imagine it would cost too much!

Man, it sure is easy for you guys to spend MY money!

I've got a wife to do that for me!

If she ever thinks I'm spending more money on MY toy than on hers, there'll be hell to pay!

I might end up taking you up on your offer Tom. I'm trying to figure out if a head ja17 has will work. I'd prefer to not have another engine sitting around (and you know I can't just throw away a perfectly good block, hey, you NEVER know!) so if possible I'd like to just do a head replacement.

Well, I'm not going to remove it for you!

I hear they are a triple motherf**ker to remove.

I'd be glad to sell the complete motor though.

While we're on the topic of engines, I need your expertise, Arthur.

The engine in my 1974 coupe', which I suspect to be a 1975 engine according to the casting in the head, has the serial number 110 922 12 029 278.

Can anyone dig the information up regarding manufacture date?

ja17 has a head from a 1975 engine and I believe it will work. Neither one of us (and ja17 most definitely doesn't) wants him to go through all the hassle of yanking the head off a perfectly good engine if it won't work.

Joe thinks the 1975 models went to a lower compression whereas my Motor's manual (yeah, yeah, it's lied to me before) says it actually has a higher compression. Just looking for a little clarification.

Okay, I think I managed to find the information but if you could confirm it?

The 110.922 series engines were produced for the M116 "S" series, available either carbed or injected. They were produced from 1975 until early 1980 production models. Ugggh, I just can't imagine trying to push around one of the "S" class sleds with a carbed 6!

Internally, they are the same engine but this information helps explain some of the "extra" brackets still on the engine. It also helps explain why the car, when I bought it, had the wrong transmission rear mount.

M110 head request

Do you still need a head for your M110 ??
I have 2 fully rebuilt (professionally). Call me at 330-645-6949
While they were being redone, the car was vandalized beyond repair.
I do not have a cam set but I do have the carrier/towers.
You sould normally use the old ones.
