Another Transmission Question

My 71 250 has a bad (actually two bad) K4C025 transmissions. Another member PM'ed to tell me he has a 722.3 he's selling. I'm pretty sure that won't work. Am I wrong?

It won't work.

What's wrong with yours? I'm redoing the one for my 65 220Sb.

The original was flaring badly and leaking a bit from the front seal. Then it started slipping really bad in third and fourth gear and leaking a lot from the front seal. Rebuilder says it has a bad pump, bad drum, and some other specifics I forgot. The other one came from a junkyard and just plain didn't move. The rebuilder is trying to make one good tranny out of two bad ones, but needs additional parts. It's been about a month.
