Dead oil pressure gauge

My oil pressure gauge is not working, anyone know where is the oil pressure switch is located, its from a 1974 240D with a OM616...

79Mercy is right. Yours is mechanical, so there should be simply a tube attached at the oil-filter mounting plate. The computation of pressure is done at the back of the oil pressure gauge.

actros617, make sure that the oil pressure line isn't blocked. If it isn't blocked then you'll need a new gauge. Usually those gauges don't go bad, they just start to leak.

BTW, are you sure the motor is producing oil pressure.

Yes the motor is producing oil, we open the oil filler cap and oil was spraying on the Cam shaft, i have heard that oil pump in these rarely fails unless tempered with, So these cars dont have a oil pressure sender, instead i has a line that goes directly to the oil gauge, how do i test if the line is clogged.

take the line loose at each end and blow through it.

Well, you could always pop the instrument cluster out, un-do the line on the back of the gauge and start the engine to see if you have pressure in the line. Let me know how that works out for ya!
