1975 W114 280c: bad gas cap seal
I've done a little searching on this site and it didn't come up with much to answer my question: What are symptoms of a car running with a bad seal at the gas cap?
As I filled up my 280c today, I noticed the rubber seal was split and essentially useless. there was no gas dribbling or major leak, but I wanted to know if the gas tank not being able to seal properly may be the cause of a slight hesitation coming away from stoplights, or if it wouldn't make much of a difference. Thanks for the help! |

its just going to leak fuel. Its not going to cause problems. The tank isn't under pressure, there is a vent.

Contrary to the above thought, is the total integration of an emissions system. The gas cap should have a tight seal.
