Cruise control on a 250C?

Anyone out there have any recommendations / experience with an aftermarket cruise control unit for a W114 / 250C? It would be a nice little luxury to have with the highway driving I do, but I can't seem to find much info on any CC units available for installation on vintage vehicles. Thanks.

The guys at United Speedometer are cruise control gods. They've seen it all. Many times they have concocted adaption pieces for many of my unconventional projects. I would think that a MB would be a piece of cake for them.

I put an Audiovox CCS-100 in my 1972 250C. I put the control pad under the dash and used it by feel. It worked very well.

There was a universal unit on a 350slc 4 speed manual that i once bought. I think a few places still sell them.

There may be aftermarket cruise kits availible through J C Whitney or sources in Hemmings.
I found an aftermarket 'Equss' cruise control for my '72 250 at Pep-Boys many years ago. Unit was the same one as the TRW kit sold at a local commercial autoparts store.
Installation was fairly simple, using a speed sensor clamped to one plug wire, a small control-pod under the dash and one throttle actuator cable. Servo and electronics were combined in one unit mounted low in the inner fender, near the radiator. System worked well for a few years until (I suspect) engine heat affected the electronics.

Happy Motoring, Mark
