i just got a 108 with a 4.5 and love the car, but it does not shift into 4th gear. i'm going to explore the possibility of a stuck kick-down switch this weekend, but i've also heard that these came with 3-speed trannies. ???!!!!???? this doesn't make any sense to me as the motor is screeming at 65 mph. any help is greatly apperciated.

Are you leaving 2nd gear? Redline on the 4.5 is 6K so "Screaming" compared to a modern V8 like say a Charger, yes. 2nd gear redlines @ about 96. 3rd will carry you past 130MPH. It's a 3-speed auto. Count the shifts. The lines on the speedo show where the safe redline in each gear is at (1 notch for 1st @ about 58, 2 for 2nd @ about 96).
