I'm only seeing one master or slave cylinder on the Fastlane page.

Rebuilt clutch masters are fine. Rebuilt BRAKE masters on the other hand are almost "last resort" items.

I know how you feel Stimpy.

A couple weekends ago after spending all day saturday and all day sunday working on the car...

It's about 6PM sunday, with the 250CE back together after about sixteen hours of wrenching I went out for a drive. It was a little chillier than normal so I decided to test the heater. That was a poor choice. After about thirty-one seconds, the vents blew a couple wisps of smoke and then nothing. When I pulled into the driveway, all the lights went out on the instrument panel. SO, even though Wilma (my 250) runs well enough now, I believe the majority of the interior bits and pieces have signed into a pact to conspire against me. Nevertheless, at least I can still drive her every day.

Why don't you just rebuild it yourself ? All it consists of is a few rubber seals, a steel cup , a spring, and a snap ring. The rebuild kit costs less than $20.00 at NAPA. and it's pretty self explanatory once you get it apart.

I called the local NAPA (local now being >25 miles away because they seem to be all closing here in wonderful Militiagan) and they do have an ATE unit for ~$80 (not in stock) but they do not carry the rebuild kit.

Just checked NAPA online and no rebuild kit is listed. =(

Will take pix of odd valve thingy tomorrow if I get time between classes.

********** had the clutch master (ATE) for $43. Ordered that, a valve cover gasket and some other odd bits.

Looks like a substantial leak from the rear differential input seal. May have to go to Mercedes for that one. I'm looking forward to my first visit to the MB dealer down in Grand Blanc because it means a stop at HALO BURGER mmmmm

Don't jump to conclusions regarding the diff seal. The diff housing is a major "catch-all" point for engine leaks. If the diff mount is completely collapsed it can create a leak by creating a bind in the driveshaft. Flex joints work a bit differently than U-joints.

could be a leaking drain plug on the torque convertor

Do I even want to know what this is? It looks expensive.
SLS Hydro-Pneumatic Self Leveling System!?

Sounds like from your description it is the valve which compensates and adjusts for changes in rear suspension ride height. The complete system would require an engine driven pump, a fluid resevoir, and rear struts in addition to this valve and related piping.

Why, what a co-inky-dink, the badge on the back is 220D SLS!

I haven't had a chance to run out there to take any more pix; trying to fit in boxing/sparring after work and a paramedic class from 6-10PM so I usually just drop dead when I get home.

I would hazard a guess and say that the previous owner replaced the rear struts with standard shocks as they look newer. But this could be a good reason why the rear end was dragging...

More later! How rare was this option?
