'73 450 SE MAP sensor electrical connection

I am a bit embarrassed to have to ask this but...

I was cleaning the electrical connection to my MAP sensor this afternoon ('73 450SE D-Jet). After I was done, I realized that the electrical connector from the wiring harness can go into the MAP sensor either way! The harness connector is "D-shaped", but the connection on the MAP is not D-shaped. Would someone please tell me which way is the correct way up?

Many thanks,
Joe

You shouldn't have to twist the wires.

Thanks Ron. Looking to the fender from the engine side, the current order of the wires is:
Engine - Black/White - Red/White - Blue/White - Green/White - Fender.

To be honest I am pretty sure it doesn't matter, the outside wires are 1 loop and the inside the other loop, and it measures differences in impedance - nothing that requires current to flow in 1 direction or the other.

I went out and looked , my MAP is mounted perpendicular to fender , large end pointing to engine , the wire connector facing fender - drivers side --the wire on the side pointing to the radiator is black -white - wire closest to firewall green white

Thanks very much Ron and Tom.

It looks as if I have my connection inserted the right way :-) But it may not matter! That's one thing less to worry about.
