Red face "A" pillar trim clips

1971 280se 108018 chassis, M130.980 engine - I need a couple of the clips that hold the "a" pillar trim pieces on, mine broke when I removed the trim (forgot how the trim comes off)!! If anyone has spare clips, PM me with cost, etc.
Thanks
Jerry

Hard to describe - about 1/2" wide, bent in a tight "s" with one end longer than the other. Short end slips into the trim piece with the other end going into a slot in the "A" pillar. Not very good description I know.
Thanks

Jerry,

I need to remove my "A" pillar trim pieces so I can get to the wood at the base of the windshield. How does one remove those trim pieces?

Pull the trim pieces straight back toward the rear, they should pull right off. The reason I broke my clips is I forgot how the trim comes off. After I got them off, breaking the clips in the process, I saw how they were supposed to come off (smacked myself in the forehead and called me a DA)!!
Good luck
Jerry

I thought my clips were missing-they were left in the pillar when I pulled the trim piece from the car. The wood trim at the base of the windshield has some screws holding it to the dash. Once those screws are removed you have to very carefully remove the trim by lifting to one side and at the same time exerting pressure to create a slight bow. If your wood is severely dried out it is quite fragile and needs a very gentle touch to remove. The bow is laminated and doesen't stand much abuse once you begin the refinishing process-go easy on the clean-up if the finish has wrinkled, bubbled up or fallen off. There are a number of posts regarding redoing your wood trim in this forum.

I looked, but no luck, I even looked at the EPC to see if I could find a part number but , I think they are listed as "other clips as needed" A local MB dealer may be able to help or contact the classic center

Meltedpanda, thanks for looking, I plan to check with the local MB dealer today as they have some other parts that I ordered.
