Missing Fuses?

Hey folks,

I noticed today while doing some troubleshooting that one of my aux. fuse boxes seems to be missing two fuses. I don't have a fuse map to go with my car, so I'm not sure what they correspond to. Any ideas?

P.S. - If anyone's got a fuse map for this car they want to share, I'd be just tickled.

Power windows. Someone has by-passed them with aftermarket fuse holders and fuses.

Pull the fuses and check your defroster fan, the A/C blower fan, the rear window defrost or sunroof if so equipped.

There are usually two fuse stations on the firewall and one may have been eliminated by not having power windows.

I don't think they're power windows as they're only 10 amp. I think it may be radio and something else nonstandard on all/euro cars. (Fasten belts buzzer? Pretty sure the aux fan, sunroof, and A/C are all 30A)

However, Mike is correct that they've been bypassed if you look at the wires. If you were to put 10A ceramic fuses in there, you now have a 20A circuit which is not good! Either remove the bypass and use 10A Ceramics, or keep that bypass in place.

This looks like someone just put in some updated fuses. The original types tend to crud up in that area and need to be cleaned so they will continue to flow electricty. The blade type of fuses are much more waterproof and will not need to be cleaned as much.

The only way to be sure as to what these operate is to turn on the key and see waht turns off when you pull them. You might try just following the wires. Sometimes they will take you right to the device they power.

Thanks folks, I guess I didn't put two and two together and realize that they were bypassed. Oops.
