I FINALLY got new CORRECT injector seals, as well as new green o-rings for the injector holders. Is this a dry fit seal? or should I be coating the seals and rings with....what? I heard motor oil, Vaseline, brake fluid...

Dry fit. Substances such as Vaseline, oil, grease etc will break the seal down much faster and prevent it from sealing!

Those seals are subject to all sorts of stuff - gasoline, oil from breather system etc. So hopefully they are made from a synthetic that will stand those products.

If you can get them in dry, that would seem best. But I seem to recall them being a tight fit and needing some lubrication.

I put the seals in first and made sure they were seated properly - I pushed them down with a "tool" I happened to have that kept them aligned - seem to recall them not wanting to go in straight. Then pushed in the injectors - the plastic injector tips slide in easier.

I forget, but think I may have used a little brake fluid to get the tight ones in!

A little moisture will help slide them in easier. Dab a drop of water around the seals with your fingertip. I've even heard of using dish soap. They should ideally NOT be exposed to gasoline, oil etc. I know, they will be and that's why they don't last forever - but coating them in Valvoline will simply wear them faster! Unless you're pouring the water in your intake, it won't do any harm.

I agree with the dishsoap at least, possibly the brake fluid, as it makes the rubber expand, enhancing the seal. but Dishsoap would be the least destructive.

What about silicone grease? It is used on O-rings in faucets, packing, etc.
