Smiling when you drive your classic

Man was I in a good mood today driving the 1970 280SE. The view from the wheel is great- I love the hood shape. No one else on the road has the same car. I'm diggin it.
Post your good times and what you are thinking when you drive your classic in this thread!

Edit- the title should read
Smiling when you drive your vintage Mercedes.

You're right about the Bill... not many can compare with the vintage presence of the 108-112 series
Although in my 111 I have been flagged down too often... basically to chat/admire/gawk at the classic coupe even more!

I smile every time I drive my shaggy dog dd 240/300d. A full sized car which gets over 20 mpg town and 35 highway and is 27 yr old just has to give smiles!

vintage SL is always popular

I get a lot of stories whenever I'm "out and about" in my 74 SL.People seem to associate these cars with the movies/movie stars. There aren't many who dislike convertibles, and the classic lines of the 107 seem to have universal recognition.
This car never ceases to put a smile on my face!!

The 108 barn find is one of the few vintage rides that the wife will get into with me. When we decide to go somewhere the wife always want to go in the Benz. It's not as comfortable as our later cars, the A/C isn't as good and the heater doesn't work. But hey, we now have great modern tunes and we look great as we float down the road.

Well these are not MB but I think they qualify...

In the 1957 Nomad I got tons of "thumbs ups" and people coming over to gawk at it. My ex-wife used to drive it during the week and she would get challenged to drag race all the time. It was fun for her to send that (then 43 year old car down the road and beat the idiot college students, she teaches at a local community college)

The one that got the most stares though was the 1963 Corvair. It was aqua with a white top. I actually had somebody run off the road staring at me.

I love the old cars and they never fail to make me smile.

I will have to get another this Spring. Maybe something British or even Italian! I cannot afford the vintage MB's I want.
That is unless somebody has an orphan that needs adopting...
