Air Conditioning 1968 280SE Sedan
I am being transfered to a very hot climate and want to be able to take my MDZ. However, it has no air conditioning. Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated.

Retrofitting an orig Behr or Kuhlmesiter isn't a simple task but certainly doable albeit labor and parts intensive. Or you can always try vintageair.com and go for an add-on underdash cool-only system (which has its benefits) and this will be likely the most-efficient & headache-free path to take. I heard they may have FrigiKing components as well as other universal applications, but it's best to contact them. Add-on A/C systems typically promote the use of Sanden or Nippondenso compressors due to high-efficiency and reliability.

Hello,
Adding all the parts from a parts car is the best option. Convert to the later rotary compressor for best results. The original upright compressors were not as efficient and prone to cause vibration.
