Ahhh... those

I bet one of them would dimple the fenders on a w114 the way they curve up.

The first time I replaced the engine mounts I used a floor jack. Now I have a engine lift.
I have to point this out, I believe that a cherry picker is used, by the phone company, to repair telephone lines on poles.

Ummm, I suppose they would if you actually placed the mounting pads on the fender surface. However, if you place the pads on the mounting area of the fender as designed (where the bolts attach the fenders on the top) there is absolutely no problem.

That makes sense, still like my cherry picker.

The boom lift they use has as much to do with picking cherry's as pulling engines. It's a southern term. And not Mexican south, real South.

And as the saying goes, "Differences in opinions is what makes horse races"

I hate using jacks and lifts. It seems like whatever bolt, socket, wrench, etc. I drop ALWAYS manages to roll under the most inaccessible spot beneath the legs.

One thing should be noted here: Many times a motor mount is mistakenly replaced because of settling and not complete colapse. If it settles 1/4 inch, it's OK. Even OEM mounts will settle a little; it's the nature of rubber.
