LOTS of 108/109 parts for sale

Anyone needing any miscellaneous stuff for their 108/109, please drop me a line or call me: (513) 519-7302. I have all kinds of goodies which I'd like to clear off of my shelves such as mirrors, instrument clusters (complete), injection pumps, interior trim, exterior trim, complete set of interior wood, "bundt cake" alloys, steel wheel hubcaps (all painted dark green), Becker radios, etc..etc...

Let me know!

I just bought a 1970 280SE and it went through a pretty thorough restoration about 4 years ago. It is an extremely nice car and the previous owner went all out during the restoration with one exception. They put in a steering wheel from a 450SL. While it is a nice steering wheel and they probably bought it new, it just isn't the same as the original. Do you have a black steering wheel in excellent condition?

steering wheel

oldbenz:

I think I might just have a nice one lying around somewhere. I will check this weekend when I get back to Cleveland. In fact, I know I have a few of them, but let me see if I have one that's mint (i.e. no cracks!).

I also may need a gas tank for my 280SE. It appears that when I fill up the tank, it leaks until I use about a couple gallons. Do you know what may be going on here?

Fuel tank

oldbenz:

It's relatively common to see that. Could either be from the filler neck or the sending unit. Under the sending unit, there is a gasket which might be leaking. Hope it's just that.

Did you ever locate the steering wheel?

Oldbenz:

I do have two of them, but they've both got cracks in them. Your only choice may be a brand new one.
