1966 250S For Sale

Hey guys, I am looking to send my '66 250S off to a good home. She is in pretty good condition for a car that is 40+ years old but at the same time she has her flaws.

I have spend around 3000 dollars in the past year or so to make her a daily driver, the bulk of that went into a complete break overhaul ($1200) and having both Zenith Carbs rebuilt ($1200). Also have had ignition system replaced(plugs, wires, dist cap & rotor, points & cond...etc).

A few things I would suggest to get done. Replace window gaskets(front and rear), 3 windows need to be put back on tracks( I believe its the plastic roller that needs to be replaced on FR, BR and BL), Power steering flush,(wines when turning at idle), she is due for new paint.

I wouldn't hesitate to drive her cross country, I did...and that was before I put the 3 grand into her. Made the trip from Michigan down to South Carolina with no problems.

Looking to get a fair price and send her home with a fellow Benz enthusiast, we all know what these go for and I'm a reasonable guy.
Here is a link to a few photos, can provide more upon request as well as documentation for all service done. Thanks

-Curt

Curtis ,
Thanks !
Your photos surely don't depict a car with any paint issues.

My car was painted by a small shop in Long Island , N.Y. that I stumbled upon years ago when I was considering purchasing a Volvo P1800. I didn't buy that car but I did keep the shops contact info. because I liked the look's of his operation. My coupe came to me looking like it does in that photo "BUT" the undercarriage needed attention. Long story short , I replaced the two trunk spare tire wells and the passenger side floorboard. This all encouraged me to replace all sorts of worn out suspension parts (coil springs , HD bilsteins, 4.5 rear end , compensator spring etc...etc...) while I was underneath. A complete exhaust system was then ordered too. Then we decided to replace the rear body panel and the project turned into a resurrection . The more I did , the more I wanted to do. I wanted the car to be as sound as it could be . I then decided to paint a few areas on the car that could use refreshing....I'm keeping it as short as possible here ....By the time I was done with buying parts and paying the shop, I would guess that I spent about $12K . How much of that was for paint work ? Maybe around $4K ??? Like I said , it looked great when I bought it but it was what I couldn't see that needed all the attention. This was my first Benz and I got a real education during this episode. Looking back on it now 9 years later , I wouldn't change anything about that episode . The car continues to excite me everytime I look at it. There are still a lot of things that I plan on doing to it too.
