69 230/8 Wiring Diagram Needed and Questions

Hello All,
I'm in the process of trying to sort the wiring on my sedan.

My first problem is with the turn signals. Left, right, or hazard, they all flash really fast. All lights are working. I read in another thread that there is a second flasher unit above the parking brake. I found it but there is an issue with its wiring. One side is wired to ground and the other is about 5 inches long and ends in a german-made splice which has come loose from whatever it was connected to. Any ideas? I can't find any loose wires in the loom under the steering.

I looked at the wiring diagram in my Haynes manual and the only flasher unit shown for the 230 is a simple 4 pin unit. The book does show the 6 pin on the S model. Neither wiring diagram shows the 2nd flasher unit above the parking brake.

Anyone know of a source for a good diagram for this car?

Thanks for all responses,

-peter

I have the Mercedes Service manual for that car sitting on my shelf. I will scan the wiring diagram, but I am late for work at this very moment!!
