someone please snatch this car...
http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/cto/1616451007.html
If I saw this ad in two months after I'm a bit more settled, I'd jump on it quickly. Straight, solid body and only $2k. Of course, no affiliation. Regards, David

This does appear to be a deal, but if it still has the thermal reactors on it, as some 1976 cars did, if could get pricy fast.

Plenty 450SL's show up at that price in Texas where the weather is much kinder on the body.

I'd buy it just so I could have a 450SL with the steel wheels and hubcaps. But... time, space, funding and other things mean you'll get to this one a lot faster than I'd ever be able to. I watched a show on SpeedTv this morning about waking up an engine from a car (international truck in the show.) The "thermal reactors" statement made me violently eject my beverage from my mouth. A+ sir.

Maybe it's just because I'm a recent transplant here from the midwest, but there certainly aren't cars like this (what I think this is at least--remember it's on CL) up there.
Thanks, David

Cars like that havent existed in the midwest since the first Bush took office. Remember when you used to be able to buy a "slightly rusty" Fiat for $500? Try to find any Fiat ANYWHERE now. Salt is a *****.

Very true - they were and still are a rare sight in Nebraska - where I was from.
