Have any of you ever dismantled a steering column before? (W116)

I'm bound and determined to tighten something inside the steering column on my SEL that keeps rattling.. It's not the coupler or anything like that. it's loose about what could be 3 inches or so behind the hub plate...and I can't find any exploded diagrams anywhere..
