I was concerned about the conductivity of this, especially with a dirty terminal (resistance = heat) and after seeing the part on a blow up, I saw that the arm/switch/wires are all one piece (and available for nearly $300...I passed). Being stubborn, I saw that the wires went to a plug under the dash. I unplugged it and took it out of the steering column. I'm sure it'll take me a while to slide it back through but GOOD NEWS! On the back side of this terminal that I've been wiring all this time was another wire. I'm going to splice it in there, and try to re-sell that "wire glue" when it arrives

Doesn't look so intimidating when its not millimeters from the steering column
