Window regulator needed for '76 300D

I'm new to the Mercedes family and picked up a solid running project to build with my son. I've been looking throught the forum and their is a lot of knowledge being passed around.

I purchased a '76 300D and am having problems finding parts. What I need first is a RF window regulator, and of course mine is a powered unit. Ive tried all my yards here in Las Vegas and no luck. Been looking on the internet and no luck. Any help or advise is appreciated.

I'm also having problems with my gauges, they were working and just quit. I purchased a manual and am starting to read it and trying to figure out the wiring. I'll fight with that later. First I need to get the window fixed.

Thanks, Hey-hof

Okay. Nobody had a regulator, and I mean nobody. I found a '76 240D at my local Pic and Pull yard. With a little behind the door panel surgery, I Frankensteined it in and it works just fine. After working on it all weekend, a buddy from work turned me onto Street Rodder Magazine and they have a bolt in, universal regulator kit. I probably could have had it done with that kit in a couple of hours. Oh well, it's fixed.

What's next? Last weekend, I intalled a set of electric door locks with remote control. This weekend, I have an electrical issue that needs fixing. All of my gauges stopped working. First, they would not move at all. So I decided to clean up the engine compartment to get all the cobwebs out so as I could look at the wiring and fuse box. And now, they peg all the way to the top. I think I have a good area to start looking in. However, this could prove challenging as I dont know too much about electrical systems.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, the carrier bearing on the drive shaft rotted away. I guess I better fix that first.

I bought this car for my kid so at least I have some help. His first car should last quite a long time.
