Weekend Road Trip

I took Kermit on a 400 mile road trip yesterday to catch up with my parents for Mother's Day. On the trip down I had the AC off and had a quartering tailwind that gave me 18mpg. On the way home I had a quartering headwind and the AC on and got 18mpg.

One of the rear axles started knocking so I need to pull them apart and see what the damage is. I might be able to reboot or if not I will call up CVJ axles.

I also used Kermit to carry the kayak to the local river on Saturday. The weather was rotten but I got the boat wet anyway.

I think W116s with roof racks look neat. And it's nice that this restored car is being used often, not a garage queen.

Beautiful car! You don't see a lot of those S classes around because so many got gobbled up by ****ing rust. I'm debating the sanity of taking Wilma on a 1000km round trip this summer when she's done. Can you upload a couple more pics of Kermit?
