Identifying rear end

How do I identify the rear end on my car? I want to know if it has the wheel lock (not sure what term MB uses) or gear ratio but both options were available.

If you are referring to a limited slip if it is a factory unit it would have had a tag under a bolt on the diff cover. The ration is stamped on the diff housing next to the cover on the milled flat surface that the diff cover bolts to.

Look at the option plate on the radiator support panel for #256. that is option number for a LSD if your car was fitted with one new. The parts are available new but used ones are hard to find.

I so wanted to say that the rear end is the one with the red lights on it but I didn't.
