My Baby Died Today

Today I had an head on collision with a teenage driver. She was driving on the wrong side of the road and to fast.
Five years of hard work down the drain. She was a great car. I will miss her. I only had some minor injuries. If you look at her she took the hit quiet well. The front end absorbed all of the energy and protected me.

That is so sad!
She gave her life to protect you. but how bad is the damage? Would a new front clip fix it or is it too crushed to ever be repaired?
I hope you tan the hide of the girl who did this!
How is the girl doing? What was she driving?

Twin,

As painful as it must be to see your hard work destroyed by someone else, the most important part is that you are ok.

Please keep us updated with how insurance handles this. I always wondered what they do when a classic gets destroyed.

So sorry. That other driver must have been really moving. Looks like a high hit, was she in some SUV/ truck? Glad you're ok.

I talked to Britton on the telephone. He is going to be alright. He hit the steering wheel with his chin and has a big swollen bump. The car is totaled; bent frame, bent door, engine pushed the firewall in and cracked the dash wood! The other driver was in a van going way too fast on a gravel road with a blind turn. She was in his lane so she could take the turn at the maximum speed.

I saw his car three weeks ago. He had spent blood and treasure on his show quality Mercedes. It was nice...

WOW. that is quite a sight.

I'm really glad yr here to tell the tale. The car did what it was supposed to, and protected you life. All that work down the drain. But we'll find you another one.

There will always be another w108...

Wayyyyy too many of these threads lately. At least the common denominator is the "unsafe old cars" that people think they are are still proving they are just as safe as ever. Sorry about the loss.

You know what it says in Leviticus about murderers, don't you?? Something about them who spill blood having their blood spilled otherwise there is a curse on the land...
Interpret it how you will... No suggestions whatsoever..... lol

The MB sedan definitely did it's job in saving you. MB technology way ahead of others.

Was a police report taken? Did she receive a citation for driving on the wrong side of the road??

What kind of insurance coverage(s) do you have on your car?

Definitely have another parts car now - is the best of this tragic incident AND you survived in reasonable shape.

My condolences. It's always sad to see such a baby destroyed by recklessness.
