Question on starting a 220 SE after sitting

Hello, I've listed a 1965 220 SE in the classified section. The MB has been sitting outside for many years, it was bought from the original owner, mileage shows 59055. I want to start it up, any words of wisdom. What would be a reasonable value? Thank you.

Be very careful starting it for the first time. I would put some oil/transmission fluid/pentrating oil/something in each cylinder and let it soak for a week. Then I would attempt to turn the crank by hand. Then you want to get things lubricated before starting......This is tricky. I'd probably remove the valve cover and spray oil on everything. I'd probably also drop the oil pan. You don't want the oil pickup to be sitting in 2 inches of sludge. Change the oil. Change the air filter. Make sure the air passage is clear. Fire Extinguisher on hand. Set up a small jug of fuel and by pass the tank.

Good advice....a slight difference of opinion though, I would rather bump the motor with the starter than try to turn it with a wrench on the crank. It is somewhat unlikely but you could break off the crank bolt. Bumping the starter has worked for me on a couple of old stuck motors.
