Just a heads-up to anyone interested: Powell's Technical Bookstore in Portland, OR has a copy of the factory service manual that spans model years 1959 through 1967. I didn't write down all the models it covers, but if memory serves it covers the old 190, the 230, 250, and 280 models. About one and half inches thick. Price was $60. You can probably contact them through www.powells.com.

Thanks for the hint, I ordered the manual. I have some of it copied- itīs the only book that tells anything about the Daimler Mercedes Automatic Transmission K4A025 used in W108 type 1. and several other old ones..
