Anyone in or near Seattle?

Hi All,
I've been lurking and taking advantage of the knowledge on this forum for a while now as I've gotten my 230 back on the road. It's high time that I introduce myself. I purchased my car on impulse at the local Pick-n-Pull and spent some time sorting the brakes, exhaust and a bunch of little things. Window seals and rust issues are next. It's a 1972 230 sedan with a floor shift 4-speed and a cloth interior. I believe it's a private import as it was delivered within Germany and doesn't have AC, power steering, power windows, or a control module for the ignition. Also, I don't believe that Daimler Benz imported the 230 after 1969. All the same, it does have North American lighting and a mph speedometer although the temp. gauge reads in Celsius. Perhaps it was a dealer/factory conversion.

I'm a teacher and am about to move up to the Seattle area. The 230 will be my daily driver for a while although as it's a bit thirsty, I will probably become acquainted with the bus system.

Any clubs or events up in the Pacific Northwest? I'm a veteran of several vintage rallies in the Bay Area and would love to find similar groups up north.

Thanks,

-Peter

I'm in Tacoma, just south of Seattle. I haven't attended any events yet, but there is an annual Mercedes car show in Mountlake Terrace every year.

Thanks

Thanks guys. Judging from what I've seen on the street up there, in February, I'm in good company.

I'm in Des Moines, about halfway between Tacoma and Seattle.

Not much of a club guy, more of loner but the Concours d'Lemons would be the kind of event I'd attend. I once towed a 1963 Renault Caravelle to Canada for a French car meet. IIRC, it was the only one there.
