Merry Christmas (and some news)!
Merry Christmas to all MB Vintage regulars and visitors and their (sometimes) suffering families...
I was hugely and pleasantly surprised by a great present from my wife Diane - aka Senior Management - a genuine brand new-in-the-package-from=Mercedes 280C emblem for the trunk lid. It is sort of the final touch, and will replace the 250C emblem that I found on e-Bay for five bucks. Also, the new issue of Sports Car Market arrived. In the "Ask the Xperts" section, they responded to my question about why coupe values have not gone anywhere. The title ("Own Coupes for Love, Not Money") says it all. But if anyone is interested I will be happy to fax or mail the article. Again, best regards for the Season. Chuck |

Finally lost my star this Christmas, it had been bent a few times, but the local kids taking snow of my bonnet to make snow balls on Xmas eve bent it beyond repair. Half a twist and it was off in my hand.
Might even be fixable, the catch is broken on the underside of the star leaving only a groove, maybe with some super metal glue type stuff.......... Anyway while searching around unfruitfully for the price of a new one I found this page, http://www.mederle.de/benz/sternpr.html Apologies if it has been posted before. (Edit: found price immediately after posting this, US$14 aftermarket, whatever that means, sounds reasonable enough)
