It won't hurt the engine to spin backwards slightly? ...I'm off to pickup a 27mm socket, I seem to have everything but....

I just poured some ATF fluid in there a little while ago

Keep you posted.

BTW she is sitting outside of the garage....I don't want to offend the old dodge with all the smoke I hope to see pouring out of her tailpipe soon

If you could find some aviation hydraulic fluid, that would be at or near the top of the heap as far as penetrating oils go. I would be strongly inclined to fill with kerosene too - a lot of it. Wouldn't hurt anything, and it may be add the necessary lubricity action to the sleeves.

The moral here is, "the advice i give is free,it's the parts that cost and how you use that advice is up to you regards to how much you want to spend ".
Now you are adding something potentially damaging to the motor, right? Now you have to change the oil and get it all cleaned out quickly, right?

If it does not get it free you are creating urgency where none exists with all of the petroleum procucts.

I have seen what brake fluid does to paint......Yikes!

I don't see brake fluid on that list.

as I mentioned Kerosene is good, many other home brews work as well. Pay attention the valves , soak them and tap as indicated, I pulled a sleeve on one of mine because it was stuck. Plan to create a temporary gas feed system as well. You dont want to use the tank. The carbs may give you an issue if the floats are gummed up

Try not to wind it backwards because the timing chain tensioner will go loose causing the chain to skip a tooth or two on the cam. It5 may pay you to do this with the cam cover off so you see what is happening. A gentle rocking will normally get even the most stuck engine free if it has been stored with the plugs in.
Don't worry about smoke,if it runs all is well! it's best to mix acetone with the ATF or brake fluid to let it soak into the gap between the piston a cylinder walls.

thx meltedpanda!

UPDATE: Engine Free! I got a 17mm socket on the crank and she turned with relative ease, ....I twisted it a few turns and everything seemed to be working ok. I had put some motor oil on the valves yesterday and let them soak overnight. Should I turn the motor by hand a few revolutions before trying it with the starter?

I installed a new condenser on the side of the distributor today..the points look great.

I also flushed the radiator (which looked surprisingly good) the radiator was half full of coolant.

I pulled the 6 gallon portable tank off of my boat and plan to plug it up to the fuel pump tomorrow. The boat tank has a prime bulb which should make it easier. The braided fuel line going into the fuel pump that I pulled off was clean and clear inside, I'm going to check the hose on the other side running to the carbs tomorrow.

What am I forgetting?

Change the engine oil and filter before you start it. Not much point pumping 20 year old acidic oil around the engine .

I would have a fire extinguisher at the ready - just in case.

Sounds like you are getting close. I would tap those valves as one suggested.

I'd prolly try to pull the tops off the carbs to check for gunk in the bowls. I would probably try to start it using some priming just to see if it will run, but if there is gas in the tank it is probably really bad so I would not let that reach the carb. I'd drain it.
