heater/fresh air vents

On my 240D, the heater works fine (for the most part). thing is, the two center vents do not get warm, and i cannot shut off. the doorside "vents" work fine, i can twist them and they close the vents, they actually do get warm. beginning to wonder if these are crossed up.

i appreciate the help.

as a side-note, the switch for the air conditioner is "pushed in" behind the plate. also, the plate does not have a hole in it for the switch. so previous owner must have replaced the bezel for some reason. I was told the A/C doesn't work anyway, but i want the switch there so i can test it and perhaps get it recharged. Could this have something to do with the cold (fresh) air coming into the center vents?

Guy

could be, but I dont think the center vents do heat, check the owners manual,

You did not list year, but yours may have a switchover valve high right side of driver footwell that you can check. Pushed up I believe should be air ( internal fan) and down, heat - cowl fan
then again it may not

thanks so much, however i did figure it out. i'm such a beginner at mercedes... there is a valve below the interior vents, one way they work, the other way they shut off.
