The Bull-Scheiße Crap Car gets a new engine

I picked up the new rebuild engine today from UPS freight. So I decided to start pull the **** engine. It only took me three hours to get it out.
Here she is all ready to have the **** engine removed

With a little finesse it began to emerge.

And out she comes, like a cat barfing up a big nasty hairball.

She just can't wait to get that new engine in her.

Hmm, hairball sounds like a good name for the car. Thinking of either "Hill Street Blues" or "Bill the Cat". -CTH

"Bull-Scheiße Crap Car" would be a good name if it would roll off the tongue. When I saw the new thread, I knew immediately the car that was getting a new engine. How about just naming it "Scheiße"? At some point it will become a term of endearment that reminds you of the labor, frustration and torment.

YOU are a wild man! I love the fact that you can yank a hairball and replace it with shiny brand new stuff!!

I have been able to strip all of the components off the bad engine. The only problems were three small bolts snapping off and two bolts stripping (had to use a tap to pull them out). Also, the two coolant entry points, in the head, will not come off.

The new engine is looking good.

[QUOTE=twinockchef;2641852] Also, the two coolant entry points, in the head, will not come off.

Let them soak for a few days with your favorite penetrant oil then get a longer handle on your 6-point socket wrench, might have to use a pipe over the handle for more leverage. If that doesn't work carefully use some heat around the outside of the fitting to expand the aluminum. Do you really plan on re-using the old fittings?

Regards,

Yeah, I had already tried penetrant oil and lots of heat but to no avail.
If the fittings are good or can be refurbished I have no problem using them. If they are un usable then I should be able to get the needed parts form the dealership. The damaged fitting I was hopping to take to a machine, here in Sherman, who has manufactured previous damaged parts. The shop does excellent work. They reproduced a new heater core coolant delivery pipe which have degraded badly for the this car.

Very nice looking motor, I'm surprised on how much the Fuel Supply looks like a diesel injection pump. I hope your install goes well for you!
