Tempting local CL find

I don't need another car, but I do have m117 cams. I wonder what a 5.0 would perform like with 3.5 cams & manual ball studs?

If you're going to get a 500SEL why get the detuned US model? How's the rust on that model The paint looks nice in the small pic.

3.5 camshafts won't work well. I had the same idea and compared the lift of 3.5 and 5.0 cams and the 3.5 has less lift. I guess lift (and may be duration?) is function of the displacement. So 560 camshafts are your best option for a quick fix on tha car (they may even be the same p/n as the 5.0, you should check o0n EPC).

Well, knowing that 3.5 cams don't have as much lift is helpful to steer me from it, since that'd mean a trip to at least 1 junkyard for this car.

Not helpful enough since I kinda need to go anyway...

The 3.8, 4.2 & 5.0 cars have the same cams. The 5.6 has different timing points.
If you're going to go W126, why not find a coupe?
