I once got 16 mpg. in my 450SEL. That was driving across Northern IN on the toll road. I should be getting better, especially since the rear-end is taller than stock, but I don't think the engine is tuned in correctly (D-Jet is a PIA).

Best Regards,

David

That's about what I get with my 250S in town. On the road about 20. The gearing sucks for the highway.

280 SE 4.5 gets 11-13 MPG depending on my driving habits.
230 SL gets 18-22.

These cars are running correctly and are for fun so I'm not too worried about the milage.

My 230SL gets 10KM per liter or about 28 Imperial or around 23 US. This car has a 2.5 in it with a five speed. I just changed the 4.08 to a 3.96 LSD but I doubt it will change the mileage very much - maybe .5 miles per gallon.

The MPG on my old gasser inline sixes (W114 250, W110 230, W111 220S) on premium gas, was usually around 13 - 15 city, and 19 - 23 highway. One reason I got into the diesels.

Happy Motoring, Mark

It's hard to tell with the non-working odometer, but my 114 seems to get around 15. The 300D got 30 on the one tank I managed to burn after the manual trans went in before I had to store it. It generally got 25-28 with the automatic.
