Window Seal on '75 280C

I'm looking for a new window seal for my '75 Mercedes 280C. Specifically, it's the seal that goes between the driver's side door window vertically, adjoining the quarter window and the driver's door main window. I've looked online for one from various places to no avail, and I searched this site for a thread on the subject as well. (Perhaps my searching skills are not so good though ) I haven't even been able to find a part #.

If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

I guess that's a W114 Coupe? Search Ebay worldwide and just use keyword..114.

window seal for your '75

the part you are looking for is commonly called window channel. it serves as a guide for the window's travel up and down, keeps it from rattling, and also seals out moisture and noise.

over time the fabric in original part begins to fray and sheds pieces of thread. the genuine mb replacement part is priced at about $60usd per meter with each door using a little more than 2 meters.

there is a company named restoration specialties and supply http://www.restorationspecialties.com/ which located in pennsylvania.

they offer very similar window channel for $32usd plus shipping per 8 foot length. you can find it on page 8 of their online catalog near the bottom right of the page.

i replaced the channel in all four doors of my '72 220d with their product and am pleased with the result.

There's a tensioner of sorts for the trailing-edge window channel under the chrome plate cap--playing with this may give you enough room to replace the channel without taking out the glass--good luck

The dude down the road from me has a coupe for sale but the quarter window seal is worn and tattered also.
