Put some of your artwork up for sale on ebay. I have seen many pieces of art there. Not anywhere near as good as yours! People love animal/dog pictures.
Have you done any of the Great Dane, I just recently had one pass...very tough when the really big ones go they have such personality. Mine used to talk to me often, roo-rooo-roooo aaarrrrooooo..very vocal she was, and mild mannered gental giant. I would love to see a drawing of that I can scan and send you a picture if you want???

BTW the wagon looks much better with good metal. Cant wait to see you get this project going more. Glad to hear your foot is getting better!!

Great story as always, love reading the updates. I also encourage you to continue drawing, maybe start doing a few pieces for friends and people you meet at car shows, then others will ask about their art and where they got it, then you may start getting commissions, etc. Eventually you can even make some giclee prints of your work and offer them under a pop-up tent at a car show or similar. You will make more money on prints and won't be spending hours on each piece, just do it once for the original.

I really like your eye for detail, like the screws in the bottom of the wagon's grille, underhood straps, all the little things we notice as Benz fanatics. You have a great understanding of animal anatomy to, the pose of the dog on a bike would be difficult without a model, so unless you propped your dog on there and took a pic to work from, I say that's great work too!

Does the coupe have the same wheelbase as the wagon?

Great drawings. Good luck with your life. You seem to be very resiliant. That for sure is the most important thing in life to have a success!

Thanks for the comments. I'm trying to spend more time drawing, getting back into practice again. I already have a few people that want me to draw things, but I need to get some more practice in and get some new art supplies, etc. I haven't drawn any pictures of the Dane. Her favorite thing is to sleep on the couch.

I've been spending a lot of time looking for a decent CDL B passenger/tanker/hazmat job in the area that won't work me too many hours (I can't do 12 hour shifts--I need 10 hours of sleep at night to function and that leaves me with no time to do anything the rest of the day). I've also been doing a lot of low-cost maintenance stuff to my 300SD, like replacing and lubricating all of the door mechanisms, swapping out the driver side upper seat skin, etc.

The W111 coupes, sedans, and wagons share the same 2750mm wheelbase. The W110 sedans and wagons have a 2700mm wheelbase.

Stumbled on this thread while doing an unrelated search.

Wonder how the Fintail and its owner are doing?

There is no news regarding the Universal, other than it got some headlights, but I haven't given up on it. I need to find a rust-free donor sedan to transplant the wagon roof onto. Unfortunately, fintails are very scarce in this part of the country and cars in general are priced high.

I've been in and out of jobs. I can't keep them because I have a sleeping disorder that makes working full time impractical. I was fortunate enough to have medical insurance at my most recent job, so I had it analyzed and many tests done. The conclusion is that I am healthier than most but I have a genetic anomaly that causes me to require about 12 hours of sleep EVERY DAY in order to function and be alert.

I was living on minimum wage jobs until I got my CDL (which was paid for by the first commercial driving job I had). It's the only real job training I have that keeps me above minimum wage, but it's been a struggle to stay alert and awake while driving and I've fallen asleep while driving a tanker truck carrying propane. In effect, my career is over because I can't renew my CDL and it's not a safe occupation for me. I've applied for disability and will see how that goes.

I'm still driving my 1980 W116 300SD. It needs air conditioning BADLY. This will be the 6th Phoenix summer I've suffered through without it.

Don't give up ! .

I like your old Ford truck ~ I had a rusted out 1959 F100 in 1968, a great farm truck, it came from Ayers AFB in Ayers, Ma. and had been a runway crash truck before the floors rusted out .

The truck is my roommate's 1960 Ford. He has a few old cars. Right now I just have this wagon and my daily driver 1980 W116 300SD.
