Kermit wakes from a winter's nap

Since the snow is gone and the rains have washed all the salt from the streets, it's safe to wake the old cars and drive them like they were meant to be. Kermit was last on the road Thanksgiving Day and spent the winter getting some minor upgrades and repairs:

New leather seats front and rear.
New brake hoses, front calipers, and fluid reservoir.
Manual shut-off valve added to the heater hose
Valve cover cleaned up and polished
Alternator mount repaired
New fuel hoses
New window channels front and rear
Rear window regulators changed to manual

I am still waiting for my new retro radio but that should be here this weekend.

It was nice driving the car tonight after spending the winter working on her. The new window channels seem to make a big difference in reducing wind noise, but I have to admit the new seats are very nice.

The 16v AMG I just bought came from Chicago; he did the same thing you did - hibernation. Must be rough because I get itchy to drive my toys when a week goes by without.

Ya, but the fear of your toys turning to dust keeps you from using them

I was over in Chicago last week. It was 80 degrees in Dallas on the day that I left so I got on the plane in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt I froze by b*tt off!
Luckily the client took mercy on me and gave me a company jacket.

Do you have any pictures of the new leather seats? I just put new leather in my 280 SE 4.5 from GAHH.

I had them professionally installed. Labor and Materials (ouch) $4000. More than I paid for the car in 1997. I wanted them to look original and they do.

Small world. I just sat down to read my copy of The Star and there you are on page 60! Nice article, great looking car, and I'm sorry to hear about Honey.

Thanks, Honey was a good dog. I don't think I could get another one. She would listen and not run off outside even if another animal was around. She always greated me at the door with her ball, sat on my lap even though she was 60 pounds.
