pullman 6.3 precombustion knock

A friend of mine has a late 60's 6.3 grosser m-100 car that has a knock. It runs great but makes a knocking sound. What should I check?

First thing to check is his wallet,
credit limits,
and
is he on the Forbes 500 list?

Check the M-100 group forums

there's a discussion there "right now" about an M189 with a knock suspected. There is good advice there about guessing what else it might be. Not all of it is suitable for the M100, but it's a start. -CTH
