1972 Ebay 280SEL4.5 interesting???

Found a 280SEL 4.5 a bit rough, but in my price range and near my house for sale on ebay. The miles are very low, maybe 33K, but much of the rubber around windows need replaced, and maybe paint. But the windows are tinted since it came from Fla. Is it easy to take this off myself or get someone to do this for me?

With 33K miles and 30 year old I wouldn't be worried about the window seals. Engine seals, tranny Orings, fuel lines, varnished regulator and injectors, stuck relays etc... Believe me some of these low milage wonders can be more expensive to fix/maintain than a higher milage driver.

As always have a professional check it out.

What "rubber around the windows" are you refering to? The windshield and rear window gaskets are probably best left to an auto glass shop or body shop since you run the risk of breaking the glass removing it. The window channels are not as risky. You can probably do those yourself.

Not sure, maybe referring to the seal where the door meets the glass. This car will need plenty of work, my main concern is the small rust under the drivers seat rails. Will try to see the car in a couple days...

Age can kill more cars than miles
