Question for Finny Folks

Does anyone know how to remove the wide chrome trim at the base of the windshield? I would like to get into the cowl and it appears to be held in by some connection under the trim. Thanks!

It's held on by snap clips

These are riveted to the body and have spring fingers that engage in the channel of the anodized trim.

A tool like a hardwood wedge for prying between the body and the outward curved edge works.

Once you get one clip disengaged, it becomes easier to find the placement of the next one in line.

Be forewarned that these aged spring clips do break more than occasionally. When this happens, you have to drill out the rivet and pop-rivet a new one in. The clips should be cheap and easily ordered, so you might want to check that out and at least try to be ready for that possibility.
