ignition point
did bosch ever make an ignition point with a hollow contact? It came with my purchase of a 1972 280se i6, sitting in the glove box as if it's a spare. Please chime in before going through the effort of testing it!
Thanks!

Reason: The car had just developed an odd harmonic inbalance at idle. There is smoke inside the valve cover when I remove the oil cap |

Yes, its no problem.
I am not sure if Bosch made them but I have used many sets with a hollow contact on one side.

A set I got from NAPA had a hollow end. Got them when my Bosch points failed on the road.
I replaced them with Bosch ones after they got fouled after about 500 miles twice.
