How do you get this thing out??? - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

I tried to pull the knob off, like all the rest, but I think there may be an additional trick to this. Can you help me? I think this is the headlight switch.

Turn knob counter clock wise to "10 -11 oclock" and pull knob out,
then base screw - chrome piece in picture should turn counter clockwise.

Wires are attached by screws

I considered that a possibility, as I remembered some older domestic manufacturer (GM, I think) had a similar design. I think the shaft pulls out with the knob. I just wasn't sure which position and didn't want to break anything. Thank you for the help.
