Fuel Injection Wiring Harness Repair
Trying to find some solutions for my project...the engine is about to go in and want to address the brittle wire harness for the fuel injector connectors. Any idea where I can get the male connectors? Not all are in poor shape, just want to get the connectors and solder it together but can't seem to find a source, all I can find are the female connectors.

One of the many positive things about the merger with pelican parts is their extensive support for WV and Porsche brands, which had the same FI system. Have you called them and asked?

Cut the wire back a few inches and strip off the insulation. Rewire the harness and use heat shrinkable tubing. It's available at Electronic Components Distributor | DigiKey Corp. | US Home Page, Mouser Electronics - Electronic Component Distributor and other places. Don't use the Radio Shack stuff.

I believe this is the correct connector:

Thanks for the responses. I made an order through Peach Parts and they sent me these:
Fuel Injector Pigtails - Bosch EV1 DIYAutoTune.com which as Tram says is for the L-Jet and they dont seem to want to stay clipped on. Upon closer inspection of the photographed connector (that appears to be newer than the rest) it revealed some grinding work done on the connector...which leads me to think that someone at some point was also supplied with the L-Jets and decided to grind the surrounding plastic off and hook the connector as is. I'm sorry that the question seems so obvious, but I ask because of my experience with procuring parts...sometimes the personal experience of others trumps calling blindly and asking for parts...such as when I got an R4 a/c compressor instead of an A6, or the time I got the $56 heater hose when the $7 one would suffice, and then this L-Jet vs D-Jet connector deal. Sometimes the info gets a bit mixed up and being that its my first time round ordering the part, I'm bound to misrepresent what I need to the person on the other end of the line...it happens. Thanks for the leads. |

I am also looking for this wire harness. Have you had any luck ?

rebuilding the harness yourself is the way to go. There are probably places in Germany that sell rebuilt harnesses but that will be quite pricey. If you don't want to do it, any auto electrical shop should be able to fix it for you
many other cars of the era use L jet especially BMWs ... try your junkyard for some good parts and get a good soldering iron! make sure to change all the hoses in there with the correct FI hose and clamps. Fires are not fun! |
I got mine at Car Parts Kings.

There was a thread going on BW about re-building the harness. Here is link: D-Jet Engine Harness - Benzworld.org - Mercedes-Benz Discussion Forum Personally, I would love to buy a complete new harness. There are mercedes dealers that sell at discount, $656 for complete new harness? Mine is not that bad, so I think I better not :( |
