put 560 motor in 280se 3.5 or 6 cyl low grill

I am looking to make some improvements to my 280SE 3.5, to make it a safer and more sporty daily driver.
I am planning to add Cox Racing polyurethane bushings, springs and swaybars and stainless steel brake lines.
In the current issue of the English Classic Car rag there is a good article on the 3.5 cabriolets. Also in this article there is a reference to a kit, available in Germany, to drop a 560 motor in a 111 chassis. Is anyone familiar with such a kit?
It sounds like blasphemy to replace the 3.5 motor with a less sophisticated, heavier engine. However, I am interested in my car having more acceleration, and I am not aware of superchargers, engine build-outs, or some other way to accomplish this.
Any help would be appreciated.

Actually it sounds like a good idea to me. I think the 560 is all aluminum and therfore should be lighter. It certainly has better engine management, and as we used to say "there ain't no substitute for cubic inches." I am sure it would be a lot of work, given that you would need the black box and wiring, AC connections, fuel lines, exhaust, driveshaft etc.

But imho it would be a pretty neat car.
